Tangential flow filtration (TFF)

Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) is a technique used to separate and purify biomolecules and particles in solution. Unlike traditional filtration, TFF directs the feed flow tangentially across the filter membrane, allowing for the gentle and efficient processing of large solution volumes - while minimizing sample loss and preserving the integrity of sensitive molecules.

The TFF method can be performed using various types of membrane modules, including cassette, hollow fiber, and spiral wound modules and is widely applied in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, protein purification, and contaminant removal from biological samples.
